QUICK UPDATE : I have a Sarah Rose "Working Girl" on order. She is available for a custom order - see sales page for details.

So much for food poisioning.....according to the doctor (who I finally caved in and went to see after 3 days of throwing up), was full blown stomach flu.
Nice.

Anyway - this week I turn 39 years old. A scary thought to be sure. The fear of getting older is only dampened by the fact that my hubby will turn 40 this year...something which seems to amuse me and the kids but causes huge grief for hubby.

It is so strange....my mom died when she was about my age now - leaving behind a husband and two teenage kids. Now here I am - approaching 40 with two teenage children and as a result I feel closer to her than ever before. I still remember her so vividly it just seems like yesterday. How can 25 years pass so quickly??
I see her doing the dishes in the evening - always carefully removing her engagement ring and setting it in a little bowl on the side so that it wouldn't become damaged from the soap suds....
the same ring which is now on my own finger.

How bizarre that time disappears and stands still all at the same time.

On that note - it is also our 18th wedding anniversary on Saturday.
How lucky a woman am I.

I'm a bit late this week updating the custom order page. This was due to the "Food Poisioning Crash Diet of 2009" The last 2 days have been well.....I won't gross you out....but it was baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad......
on the upside - I have lost 5lbs in the past 48 hours so its all good :-) (Disclaimer: I DO NOT recommend this "diet" to anyone!!!!!)

I finally got round to posting some of my recent work today - see the gallery page. The other pages *will* be completed soon - I promise!

Happy Spring!

Keep an eye out this week for a little Scarlett resin heading to eBay. She will be available this evening at 8pm CST. More details on the Sales page.

Back Update: It is slow progress but I do believe it *is* progress!!!

Sad news this week from Vicki Burgans, the owner of Al Sharif Amir. (Thee Desperado x Bint Masira)
I did a portrait of this guy for the Stone Signature Series in 2004 and he is also the sire of my own Arabian gelding, Ali Sham (Al Sharif Amir x April At Arabesque).
"Asa" was put down last Tuesday after suffering from stomach cancer. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Vicki and her family.

Spring Cleaning...
Yes! Its another website design change. I hope you like the new look...I decided that the black format I had previously was just too depressing!
I will be updating the galleries and the artist bio as soon as possible.

After 13 months on the market....our FL farm finally sold last Friday. We had to reduce the price $60,000 from our initial selling price (which hurt alot), but the fact that we no longer have two mortgages is a HUGE relief. Thanks to Milly Burleson of Coldwell Banker in Pensacola for all she did for us.

Another big shout out this week to IWATA MEDEA. If you're a painter you know how fustrating it can be if your airbrush doesn't work properly....I've been having troubles for MONTHS with a new Iwata HP-AH Airbrush. I've used this brand of airbrush for years now and try to replace it every 18-24 months. Anyway....my newest one was giving me so many problems - making work very slow and difficult (stop/clean out airbrush/paint/stop/clean out airbrush etc etc). Last week I finally noticed that the nozzle was sitting higher than the nozzle cap (doh) - it seems that the wrong size of nozzle was installed at the factory. I called Iwata on Friday and explained the problem...this morning I received a brand new nozzle from Iwata - no questions asked. And THANK-YOU!!!!! It is now working like a charm and I have already done more work this morning than in the past 2 weeks! Yeaaaah!!

Back update : Still uncomfortable to sit for long periods of time but doing *alot* better this week. I've gone from the maximum dosage of Vicodin a day to a couple of Motrin. Physical Therapy starts Thursday.

SHIPPING : Shipping continues to be a problem here in Orange TX due to the fact that the Post Office was flooded during the hurricane. They are now working out of a portable building in town but cannot accept any packages there. This means that all packages need to be taken across the border to Louisiana instead. As a result there may be a delay in shipping as I tend to try and get a few parcels together before I make the trip. We have been told that it will be 6 months (!!!!!!) before the Orange Post Office is back up and running. Incoming packages seem to be unaffected.
